President Donald Trump said Saturday he offered UFC chief executive Dana White the job of White House press secretary — and he wants a roster of fighters to come with him.
In a Truth Social post on Nov. 7, 2026, Trump called White “a violent Fighter and Warrior” and urged him to take the role. He asked White to bring assistants including fighters Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harris.
“We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left,” Trump wrote, closing with: “Dana, please take the job!”
White has not formally accepted the offer. Shortly after Trump’s post, White shared an Instagram story showing himself at the White House press briefing lectern with the caption “On to the next chapter,” then followed with a screenshot of Trump’s statement.
It is unclear whether White’s Instagram tease signals acceptance, acknowledgment, or a gag — but the optics alone sent political and combat-sports circles scrambling.
Axios, The Washington Post, The Hill, Fightful, and NBC reported the exchange. White remains UFC’s longtime public face; a move into the West Wing briefing room would be one of the more unconventional staffing choices of Trump’s second term.
