A 19-year-old has made an inspiring career shift from a supermarket job to becoming a superhero impersonator, earning in just one hour what he previously made in an entire 8-hour workday.
Nate Frindall embarked on his superhero journey three years ago when he donned a Spider-Man costume to catch a new movie. The moment he arrived at his local cinema, he was met with applause and cheers, prompting him to perform a backflip that thrilled the crowd.
After sharing his exhilarating experience with his parents in Surrey, England, Nate decided to pursue a freelance career as a superhero impersonator. He invested over $900 (£800) in a high-quality Spider-Man suit, and this decision has truly paid off.
“I absolutely love doing it. Seeing the joy on the kids’ faces when I show up to their parties is incredibly rewarding,” Nate expressed. “I’m already booked for children’s parties every weekend in March.”

While he previously earned £12.40 an hour at the supermarket, Nate now charges £75 for a 30-minute meet-and-greet and up to £150 for an hour. Many families opt for his ‘party package,’ which features games and photo opportunities for £250, or a two-hour celebration for £300.
“People are often surprised by what I do. Initially, my friends teased me, but now I’m making great money doing something I enjoy,” he shared. “Their opinions don’t bother me because I love this work.”
To enhance his performances, which include impressive stunts like walking on his hands and backflips, Nate has invested in two additional suits. He actively promotes his business by participating in local events while dressed as Spider-Man, handing out business cards and engaging with community groups on Facebook.
Nate’s ambitions don’t stop with superhero appearances; he also pursues music production, acting, and comedy alongside his cousins on TikTok, where they’ve gained 10,000 followers.
He encourages other young individuals to take a leap of faith and explore their entrepreneurial dreams. “I would absolutely recommend starting a side hustle or freelancing,” he said. “Not many people I know are doing what I’m doing. If you can identify a niche in the market, you can earn better money while enjoying your work.”
